Our Onami texture, (Japanese for "big wave") was designed by Duncan Glass specifically for the architectural glass market. The large organic nature of Onami makes it ideal for medium to large table tops. The pristine faceted light enhancing surface is more like a piece of translucent quarried stone than a repetitive, machine-made patterned glass.
The Onami texture is achieved, as are all Duncan textures, by "sculpting" the surface using Duncan's proprietary manufacturing process. In a controlled manner the process removes shards from the base glass creating a subtle faceted texture, that refracts and distorts without reducing transmitted light.
Under some light conditions the glass will look like
quarried stone, in others it resembles
pristine ice or
cut crystal or
flowing water . Which makes Onami ideal for frameless shower screens and enclosures, bath and kitchen counters, interior to exterior walls, balustrades, room dividers, interior and exterior door inserts and sidelites.
Onami is an elegant and subdued texture. . . .a subtle solution to compliment contemporary design |
